A Long Background

Sherry is from Mount Zion, Illinois. She has 34 years of experience at the Macon County Circuit Clerk's office, with experience supervising every department of the Circuit Clerk's office within 23 of her three decades of service. Sherry has both the experience and the adaptability to be an outstanding Circuit Clerk for the people of Macon County.


Cooperation Across the Aisle

In her 34 years of service, Sherry has served under both Republican and Democratic Circuit Clerks, continuing the same degree of excellent service to Macon County.

 Sherry helped organize the current AFSCME Union within the Circuit Clerk's office. She also negotiated the first AFSCME contract with the office as a union member. She has since sat on management's side of negotiations several times.

Current Experience

Currently, Sherry is second in command as the acting chief deputy and supervisor of the imaging, traffic, and criminal departments at the Circuit Clerk's office, under Circuit Clerk Lois Durbin. She is also second in command of managing the new computer system for the Circuit Clerk's office, along with other departments of Macon County.


Sherry helped organize and institute the expungement/seal summit held in February 2018 at Richland Community College in Decatur, giving many citizens of Macon County a second chance.


In addition to all of this, Sherry assists with payroll for the Circuit Clerk's office, and in making a fiscally responsible budget for the taxpayers of Macon County.
